Care Casting ~

Casting In ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

My cares I am casting,
with all sureness
giving them to the Lord
with this assurance.

That all of my concerns,
He will take from me
from my every worry
He will set me free.

With confidence,
I’m placing my trust
my conflict’s on Him
I am going to thrust.

My every illness,
my sickness and pain
I’m letting Him have . . .
over them, free rein.

My cares I am casting,
onto Jesus with sureness
because He has given me
His caring assurance!

upon him;
for he careth for you.”

A Confident Future ~

Rekindled Confidence

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

A Confident Future ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I’m grateful for the past,
for the valley’s I’ve been in
for they have given me . . .
the strength I have within.

I’m grateful for my failures,
and yes, even my every loss
for they have all lead me . . .
to the foot of the cross.

I’m grateful for the pain,
of a heart that’s been broken
for to the mercies of God . . .
my soul has been awoken.

I’m grateful for the process,
I have been put through
for Lord, it has brought me
to be much closer to You.

I’m confident of the future,
though not sure were it’ll lead
but I’ve true peace knowing . . .
with God, I’ll have all I need!

My Days are Numbered ~

Times is ticking fast! Dear Lord, help me to do your Will . . .

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

My Days are Numbered ~ CJRISTian poetry by deborah ann

My days they are numbered,
I don’t know how many remain
but one thing I know for sure . . .
to reach the goal, I must strain.

There are just so many hours,
God gives me each new day
and every minute counts  . . .
as I travel the narrow way.

I can’t rest for a second,
I must keep on, pressing on
for I will never know when  . . .
my time here will be gone.

There’s tons for me to do,
and my talents I must use
for what God has give me . . .
I mustn’t mistreat or abuse.

The minutes they tick quickly,
the seconds, oh how they do fly
and I must use them wisely . . .
before I say my final goodbye!

Another Year, Another List ~

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

Another New Year's List ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Each year at this time,
we make up a checklist
of the things in our life
we want to add or dismiss.

We give them a number,
assign their importance
so we can rate them with
our daily performance.

We have a great resolve,
to heed our resolutions
thinking they will give us
answers and solutions.

But soon we all find,
we lose our will power
and those new ideas
begin on us to sour.

So this year if you want,
effective, lasting change
put God first on your list
and your plans He’ll arrange!

I think toward you, saith the Lord,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end.”

Think before you act..

The Living Message of Christ

In many ways I feel that I have failed my son. He has seen and heard me raise my voice far too many times and there is no real fix for this. The damage is done already. So now, he will do the same thing later in life.

Your tongue can get you into more trouble than it will ever get you out of, the problem is that you usually don’t figure this out until it is too late. The title says “think before you act”, which is true but it also means before you speak too. Sometimes, that is hard to do. Some of us tend to let our tongue get more use than our brains and that is a very bad thing, especially for a pastor.

Which is why I blog a lot here. Sometimes these posts are for my benefit more than anyone else. Although, I…
